(VIDEO) Battalion 185 splits from GNA, joins LNA

TRIPOLI – The 185th Infantry Battalion, led by Colonel Mohammed Miftah al-Ghadawi, announced that it had split from the Tripoli-based Government of National Accord (GNA) forces and joined the ranks of the Libyan National Army (LNA) under the command of Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar.

The Military Information Division published a video on Tuesday evening documenting the splintering of the 185th Infantry Battalion of the Second Infantry Brigade of GNA, under the command of Faitori Ghraibeel, confirming that it had joined LNA with all of its equipment, officers, non commissioned officers, soldiers, weapons, vehicles and ammunition.

The battalion said in a statement it supported the liberation of Tripoli from armed militias and mentioned that all of her staff in al-Nawahi al-Arbaa area declared their support for the Security Room in the region and the Intelligence Department.
