The Address | Benghazi – Libya
ANKARA – Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced on Sunday evening the start of sending Turkish forces to Tripoli to invade Libya and to support militias loyal to his government against the Libyan National Army (LNA) forces.
“Our soldiers have already started heading to Libya gradually,” Erdogan said.
Turkey will also send senior military personnel, he added, in an interview with the Turkish CNN television.
The announcement came after the Turkish parliament voted on Thursday to approve Erdogan’s proposal to invade Libya militarily, in a move facing widespread domestic and international rejection.
