US “deeply concerned” over NOC oil production suspension

The Libyan Address Journal

“We are deeply concerned that the suspension of National Oil Corporation (NOC) operations risks exacerbating the humanitarian emergency in Libya and inflicting further needless suffering on the Libyan people,” the U.S. Embassy in Libya said today.

“NOC operations should resume immediately,” the Embassy added.

A number of Libyan tribes and social components had, in several protests, closed oil ports and fields, as they objected to what they described as the Government of National Accord’s use of Libyan oil revenues to finance the war and to bring in Syrian mercenaries to Libya.
