European Commission stresses the need for states to respect the arms embargo on Libya

The European Commission stressed the need “for all parties and states to respect the arms embargo on Libya,” warning of “the consequences of the situation in Libya on the security of the European Union and the security of the Libyans themselves and neighboring countries.”

“We have repeatedly said that all parties and states should respect the arms embargo on Libya, all parties and countries should respect this and we had discussed that at the Berlin conference as foreign ministers of member states talked about this issue at the conference and also called to take measures to respect the arms embargo on Tripoli. ” Official spokesman for the European Commission for Foreign Affairs said.
