GNA refuses to release Russian citizens detained by Tripoli militia

The Libya Address Journal

The Tripoli-based “Government of National Accord – GNA” announced its refusal to release the Russian citizens, Maxim Shogalev and Samer Hassan Ali Suifan, who are being held by a Tripoli militia.

According to GNA Foreign Minister, Mohamed Siala, the case of the Russians who were arrested by GNA’s “deterrence forces” militia since early July, on charges of trying to influence the elections, is pending before the judiciary, considering that GNA head, Fayez Al-Sarraj, “does not interfere in matters of the judiciary.”
