Salamé & Bogdanov discuss latest developments in Libya via phone

GENEVA – The Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), Ghassan Salamé, discussed on the phone the latest developments in Libya with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister, Mikhail Bogdanov.

During the phone conversation, which was initiated by the UN side on Wednesday, Salamé informed Bogdanovabout the first meeting of the Joint Military Committee 5 + 5, held in Geneva under the auspices of the UN, between representatives from the Tripoli-based Government of National Accord (GNA) and the Libyan National Army (LNA).

“Other aspects of international efforts to promote an early settlement of the Libyan crisis were also touched upon, taking into account the outcome of the International Conference on Libya in Berlin on January 19 this year and ongoing relevant discussions in the UN Security Council,” according to a statement by the Russian Foreign Ministry.
