The United Nations Support Mission in Libya said that the Joint Military Committee 5+5 between representatives from the Government of “National Accord” and the Libyan National Army ended its first round of talks in Geneva and proposed to hold a new round on the eighteenth of this month.

The mission confirmed in a statement that the parties to the dialogue have not yet agreed on restoring life to normal in the areas of clashes, “despite their agreement on the need to expedite the return of the displaced to their homes.”

The mission added that the two parties are currently supporting an ongoing exchange of prisoners and bodies and that there is an agreement between the two parties to the committee on the importance of continuing the current fragile truce that started on the January 12, and “the importance of respecting the ceasefire.”
