Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry said that Turkish interference has hindered all efforts to settle the Libyan crisis peacefully.
Shukri said in Egypt’s speech at a meeting of the Council of the Arab League that “Libya is linked with Egypt by historical relations at all political, economic and humanitarian levels, and that Egyptian national security is directly affected by developments in the Libyan situation,” adding that “Libya is witnessing a marked escalation of the crisis during the last period, due to the declared and destructive Turkish interference. “
Shukri explained that “Turkish interventions have reached the point of direct military intervention in Libya, with the transfer of thousands of foreign terrorist fighters to it, and the signing of illegal agreements that violate the legal rights of the Eastern Mediterranean countries, blatantly violating relevant Security Council resolutions, as well as violating international law.”
