Travel “to be suspended” at Ghadames port with Algeria

General Abdel-Fattah al-Habib, director of the Ghadames border-point with Algeria, stated that passengers and goods flow will be suspended at the port.

In press statements, al-Habib said that the suspension “came as a result of the lack of minimum health measures in the port, to confront the Coronavirus, especially after discovering Corona cases in Algeria and neighboring countries.”

The director of the port appealed to the Libyan authorities to provide the necessary health equipment to take precautionary measures, while denying recording any Corona cases among travelers.

The land port in Ghadames is named al-Debdeb, and it has resumed partial operations last August after stopping about five years for security reasons.
