Libyan Foreign Ministry holds an expanded meeting with international organizations to combat Corona

BENGHAZI – The Libyan Foreign Ministry, in partnership with Health Ministry, held a coordination meeting in partnership with International Cooperation Office of Health Ministry, to discuss combating Corona virus disease (COVID-19).

The meeting, held yesterday, was chaired by the Director of the Minister’s Office, Ambassador Abdul Hamid al-Muqairhi, in the presence of the Director of the Foreign Information Department, Malik al-Sharif.

It was agreed in the coordination meeting on mandatory awareness-raising about the mechanisms of preventing COVID-19 and the symptoms associated with it, according to the recommendations of the World Health Organization (WHO) and in accordance with the procedures followed by the Ministry of Health of the Libyan government, for the prevention and joint coordination with international NGOs working in Libya.

It is noteworthy that the meeting was attended by representatives of the international and local organizations concerned with the pandemic, the World Health Organization, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs – Benghazi, the International Relief Organization, ACTED, the International Organization of Persons with Disabilities, International Medical Corp, and the International Red Cross.

It is worth noting that the Libyan Foreign Ministry previously called on Libyan citizens residing abroad to follow health instructions issued by countries of living.
