The Address | Benghazi – Libya

BENGHAZI – The Interim Government today officially reopened Al-Hawari hospital in Benghazi as a medical facility for COVID-19 quarantine and treatment.

Abdullah al-Thani, the Prime Minister of the Interim Government, and Lt. Gen. Abdel-Razzaq Al-Nadhouri, the chairman of the Libyan Higher Committee to Combat the Corona Epidemic, toured the facility with a number of officials to examine the latest preparations.

The newly equipped facility has a capacity for more than 100 beds, 34 of which are available for intensive-care cases.

The opening of this facility is part of widespread preventive measures that authorities in eastern Libya are taking to contain the Coronavirus pandemic in the country.

Eight cases of COVID-19 have been recorded in Libya so far, all of which are in the west of the country.
