IOM conducts sanitation campaign in Libyan detention centers

TRIPOLI – The International Organization for Migration (IOM) conducted on Sunday conducted a sanitation campaign in several detention centers in Libya and provided hygiene items, mattresses and blankets to over 270 detained migrants as part of a comprehensive response to the Covid-19 pandemic.

IOM warned that the humanitarian situation in Libya is “further deteriorating as the country records more cases of COVID-19 amid escalating violence.”

Libya has recorded eight COVID-19 cases so far.
