Libya’s parliament pays tribute to former premier Jibril

TOBRUK – The House of Representatives payed a tribute to the first Prime Minister in post-Gaddafi Libya, Mahmoud Jibril, whom died at age of 68 of COVID-19 in Cairo today.

The House offered its condolences to Jibril’s family and friends.

Jibril served in the Muammar Gaddafi regime as head of the National Planning Council of Libya and of the National Economic Development Board of Libya (NEDB). After Libya’s 2011 Uprising, he founded established the National Forces Alliance Party, as the party swept the largest number of votes in the country’s first elections in 2012.
