The Address | Benghazi – Libya

TRIPOLI – Italian Navy ship left the port of Tripoli and moved to the limit of Libyan territorial waters after an artillery shell hit yesterday the interior of the Abu Sitta naval base in Tripoli, about 250 meters from the Italian Navy ship Gorgona (A5347).

About seven more shots fell into the sea, according to ItaMilRadar, a website tracking military flights over Italy and over the Mediterranean Sea.

From what has been learned, neither the ship nor the Italian personnel was involved in the attack, said the Website.

ItaMilRadar claimed that “Gorgona” works in technical support to Libyan Navy units.
