The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Libyan Interim Government, Abd al-Hadi al-Hawij, discussed with his Algerian Foreign Minister Sabri Boukadoum, “the precautionary measures taken by Libya and Algeria to confront the novel Coronavirus and ways to enhance the exchange of experiences between the countries.”

According to a statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the interim Libyan government, the Algerian Minister expressed his “concern over the violations that occurred in the western cities, especially the cities of Sorman and Sabratha,” calling for “the necessity of finding a fundamental solution to the Libyan crisis from the Libyans themselves.”

Forces loyal to the National Accord government controlled the cities of western Tripoli, including Sabratah and Sorman, and were accused of carrying out acts of revenge, mass executions, and the release of extremist ISIS prisoners imprisoned in Sabratha prison.
