Guterres hopes to appoint a UN envoy in Libya soon

United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said he hopes to appoint a UN envoy in Libya soon, stressing that he is actively dealing with the candidates being considered as the special envoy and head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya.

In press statements, Guterres added, “We hope that this will be possible in the near future. I will not give names, but we are actively participating in consultations with some names and I hope that this will allow us to resolve this problem very quickly.”
