TRIPOLI – The Libyan National Center for Disease Control (NCDC) on Thursday announced one COVID-19 death, bringing the total deaths in the country to three.
A 92-year-old woman who contacted with an infected person died Thursday afternoon in the capital Tripoli, the center said in a statement.
The number of total COVID-19 cases in Libya so far is 63, including 18 recoveries and 3 deaths, according to the center.
Libyan authorities have taken a series of measures against COVID-19, including imposing a curfew, closing airports, border crossings, mosques and educational institutions, and banning mass gatherings and movements among cities.
Libya reported its first COVID-19 case on March 24.
