TRIPOLI – The Libyan National Army (LNA) forces are engaged in violent clashes with the militias of the Tripoli-based Government of National Accord (GNA) in three axes in Tripoli, said the member of LNA Military Information Office, Mundhir Khartoush, noting that LNA 73rd Infantry brigade was facing armed militias and Syrian mercenaries loyal to Turkey in al-Ahiaa al-Barria area and the vicinity of Kazirma and the Airport Bridge in Tripoli.

Khartoush was quoted by the Italian Nova news agency as saying that the axis of Ain Zara witnessed an attempt by GNA militias and the Syrian mercenaries to advance towards Muthallath al-Kahrabaa, but LNA forces succeeded in repelling the attack, indicating that the remaining fighting axes in Tripoli were witnessing a cautious calm, with continued artillery strikes from both sides.

Khartosh reported that LNA units in East Misrata were in complete readiness to act as soon as orders are issued by LNA General Command, noting that “the Central Region was witnessing complete calm, after the capture of a member of GNA armed groups, supported by the Turkish invasion, who was on a reconnaissance mission, before he got captured by LNA forces.”
