Libya records total of 79 COVID-19 cases; death toll raises to 3

TRIPOLI – Two new cases of COVID-19 were recorded in Libya, the National Center for Disease Control (NCDC) said.

NCDC said that two people tested positive for COVID-19 after they returned to Libya from Turkey in the 9th and 16th of May.

NCDC said it is currently examining those who had physical contact with these two individuals.

In a similar context, authorities in Sabha announced on Wednesday that an individual died of COVID-19 having had a physical contact with another individual carrying the virus before the latter’s death earlier this week.

Libya has so far recorded 79 cases of COVID-19, 36 of which remain active while 40 others recovered. Three people have died of the virus.
