The Address | Benghazi – Libya

TRIPOLI – Eyewitnesses complained about firing Grad and howitzer missiles by militia allied with Fayez al-Sarraj government (GNA), from platforms inside schools located in al-Hahhba al-Khadra area close to their homes.

Witnesses assured to the Address Journal that the residents of the al-Hahhba al-Khadra area had been suffering from launching the missiles, day and night, stressing that their homes were only six meters away from those schools from which Ghnaiwa militias of GNA used to launch missiles.

Eyewitnesses stated that due to the missiles fired on a daily basis and the strong tremors made, they caused great damage to their homes.

The witnesses said that the residents of the area were suffering psychologically and are afraid for their lives as a result of these acts that terrorize children, women and the elderly.

The witnesses said that the missiles are currently being fired from Omar Al-Mukhtar School and Al-Hadba Secondary School, while previously they were fired from Umm al-Shuhada School and the Teaching Institute, and they are all located in an area of no more than a square kilometer.

The eyewitnesses appealed to the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), human rights and humanitarian organizations to intervene to stop these acts and to neutralize their homes that were severely damaged as a result.
