Members of the Security Council have extended the mandate of the operation mandated to implement the arms embargo on the high seas off the coast of Libya for an additional year.

The members of the Security Council called on the Secretary-General to submit a report to the Security Council within eleven months of the date of the extension of the mandate, saying that the countries neighboring Libya and regional organizations bare the responsibility for the maintenance of peace and security in the region under the United Nations Charter, and stressing that terrorism is the most serious threat to peace and security in there.
