Saleh addresses the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General

President of the Libyan House of Representatives, Chancellor Aguila Saleh, has addressed a letter to Acting Special Representative of the United Nations in Libya, Stephanie Williams, through which he commended the efforts made by the mission to bring peace, and its positive interaction with the initiative put forward by him to resolve the crisis in the country.

The letter called on the UN mission to stop the daily flow of weapons and mercenaries and remove them from Libya, stressing on the need for the truce announced by the Libyan National Army.

He noted that Fayez al-Sarraj, head of the Tripoli-based “National Accord” government, had announced his rejection of the ceasefire initiative and continued GNA militias on civilians in Sirte and Tarhouna.
