Turkey sends frigate to the Libyan territorial waters

Website specialized in military affairs, BulgarianMilitary, said that the Turkish navy has sent a class-G frigate to Libyan territorial waters.

The website quoted Turkish sources as saying that the frigate’s goal would be to provide support for the forces of Fayez al-Sarraj government (GNA) in Sirte, which is currently under the control of the Libyan National Army (LNA).

According to the site, the frigate is an updated version of the first class guided missile frigate Oliver Hazard Perry of the US Navy, and is primarily designed for air defense with weapons, that has been improved for all-out warfare and is equipped with sophisticated medium-range surface-to-air missiles.
