TRIPOLI – The body of a baby girl who died in a shipwreck off Libya last Saturday has been found on the beach of Sorman, Alarm Phone said in a tweet on Wednesday.
The girl was just a few months old, according to the tweet.
The shipwreck was reported six nautical miles off the coast of Zawiya. The boat was carrying 32 migrants.
Twenty people were reportedly rescued by fishermen while 11 people, including another child, have been reported missing.
3 days after the 13 June shipwreck off #Zawiya, the body of a little girl was washed up on the beach of Sorman. We send strength & solidarity to the relatives & condemn these endless killings at the borders of Europe. #BlackLivesMatter also in the #Med. https://t.co/cl9jTajsVC
