Egyptian army briefs Sisi on plans to secure border with Libya

CAIRO – Egypt’s President, Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, was briefed on Sunday by military commanders on the Egyptian army’s plans to secure the borders with Libya, according to a statement by the Egyptian presidency.

During the meeting, Sisi also was also briefed on the Egyptian army’s efforts to secure “all strategic directions” which runs along Egypt’s international borders.

Sisi had threatened to militarily intervene in Libya if forces of the Turkey-backed Libyan Government of National Accord (GNA) attacked Sirte.
