JANZOUR – A number of militants were killed during an intra-fighting on Thursday between militias backed by the Tripoli-based Government of National Accord (GNA) in the north-western city of Janzour, sources tells the Libyan Address Journal.
According to our sources, the clashes erupted between the Foursan Janzour militia and a militia led by a person called Mohammed Fakar, who is known as “the Kiki” and is affiliated the militia of infamous Tripoli warlord Ghaniwa al-Kakli. This came followng after the killing of Hamid Abu Ja’far, the brother of Foursan Janzour’s commander.
Fakar, his brother Mahmoud and three other members of their militia were killed following the armed clashes. Photos circulating on social media show that their bodies were humiliated by Foursan Janzour’s militants.
Tripoli, and its surrounding cities and towns are filled with armed militias backed by GNA, which have different regional loyalties and affiliations with terrorist organizations loyal to ISIS, al-Qaeda, or the Muslim Brotherhood.
