LNA Spox: Sarraj spent 12 billion dinars on militias

The Address | Benghazi – Libya

BENGHAZI – Spokesman of the Libyan National Army (LNA), Major General Ahmed Al-Mismari, confirmed that the Turkish invasion in Libya is targeting the Arab region, noting that the Turks are trying to spread chaos and support the militias.

Al-Mismari clarified through Skype on ON TV yesterday that the city of Tripoli and entire Libya suffer from a lack of liquidity in banks.

He also pointed out that in early 2019, the Head of the Tripoli-based Government of National Accord (GNA), Fayez al-Sarraj, issued orders to the Central Bank of Libya (CBL) to disburse 2.4 billion dinars for the militias, and they were transported by armed cars and distributed to the militias, adding: “About 12 billion Libyan dinars were spent by al-Sarraj on the militias.”

Regarding the Libyan oil revenues, he said: “We do not control the oil, and it is forbidden for any military personnel to enter the Libyan oil facilities, but LNA was authorized by its people to protect them.”
