Reminding of Security Council’s resolution on wealth distribution, Foreign Ministry says GNA militias control capabilities of Libyan people

The Address | Benghazi – Libya

BENGHAZI – The Libyan Foreign Ministry called on the American Embassy in Libya to work with the various Libyan parties, especially the Libyan National Army (LNA), which derives its legitimacy from the Libyan people and the elected parliament.

The Ministry affirmed in a statement Sunday that it regrets the monopoly of Fayez al-Sarraj government (GNA), which it described as unconstitutional and unapproved, for the national economy and the Libyan savings, stressing that the Libyan people’s demands were previously confirmed by Security Council Resolution 2510, which relied on the outputs of the Berlin Conference, especially paragraph 29 which states Distribution of public wealth and resources on the various Libyan geographical regions in a transparent, accountable, fair and equitable manner.

The Ministry stressed the necessity of sensing the legal, moral, political, social, and development responsibility towards more than two thirds of the people stricken in darkness, neglect, and the Coronavirus pandemic, while the militias and the Saraj government control the capabilities of the Libyan people.
