The Address | Benghazi – Libya
PARIS – French President Emmanuel Macron on Monday called for an immediate resumption of dialogue in Libya and the start of the political process, stressing that there is no military solution to the Libyan crisis.
In a speech marking the French National Day, Macron called for the formation of a common European policy for the Mediterranean.
“There can be no lasting peace in the Mediterranean without Europe and we cannot accept that our destiny be decided by foreign countries,” he said.
“Libya’s stability is essential for the security of Europe and the African coast, and there is no military solution to the Libyan crisis, and I call for the immediate resumption of dialogue and the start of the political process.”
