Securing Sirte-Jufra zone, LNA deploys Buk, S300 air defense systems

BENGHAZI – Military informed source said the Libyan National Army (LNA) has taken proactive steps in securing the air safety zone of Sirte-al-Jufra.

The source, who preferred not to be named, added that great security steps had been taken on the eastern border areas with Egypt with the advanced air defense systems, S300.

The S300 air defense system was secured with an advanced missile system called Buk.

The defense system to protect the Libyan territories from Turkish drones used by the illegitimate Government of National Accord (GNA) militias, backed by mercenaries and terrorists.

The source confirmed that LNA had already had air defense system.

The Buk missile is a Russian system designed to counter cruise missiles, smart bombs, fixed- and rotary-wing aircraft, and unmanned aerial vehicles.
