Eni CEO says EU role “crucial” in Libyan crisis

ROME – The activities of Italian gas company Eni in Libya “are going well considering the political situation” in the country, Eni’s CEO Claudio Descalzi said on Wednesday.

Speaking during the “Virtual Dialogue 2020” webinar organized by Institute for International Political Studies (ISPI),  Descalzi described the situation in Libya and the future of the country, and recalled that the “Libyan population is very strong and resilient”.

He noted=that the majority of the people who work for Eni are Libyan and are working for their country. Descalzi stressed the crucial role of the European Union in the crisis.
