Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi stressed to the leaders and notables of the Libyan tribes that the primary goal of the Egyptian efforts at all levels towards Libya is “to enable the free will of the Libyan people for a better future for their country and for future generations.”

The Egyptian President’s statements came during his meeting on Thursday morning with the leaders and notables of the tribes, under the slogan “Egypt, Libya, one people, one destiny,” according to the presidential spokesperson, Bassam Radi.

A delegation from the Supreme Council of Leaders and Notables of the Libyan tribes arrived in the Egyptian capital on Wednesday to express support of the tribes for the invitation, which was launched by the Libyan Parliament, to the Egyptian armed forces “to intervene militarily to maintain Libyan national security.”

Member of the Supreme Council, Miftah Al-Qaylushi, said that the Libyan tribal delegation consists of about 150 tribal leaders from all Libyan cities and tribes in the Cyrenaica, Tripolitania, and Fezzan.
