Naval movements by LNA and a military build-up by militias near Sirte

The Libyan Address Journal

The Libyan Military Information Division stated that the coasts opposite the cities of Sirte, Ras Lanuf, and Brega have witnessed a proliferation of maritime patrols of the Libyan National Army.

The Division account on Twitter has published photos of the extensive reconnaissance patrols of the navy on the coasts of Sirte, Ras Lanuf, and Brega.

This comes after eyewitnesses and leaders in the militias affiliated with the Al-Sarraj government reported that a convoy of about 200 armed vehicles moved east from Misrata towards Tawergha city, which is about a third of the way to Sirte that is considered the gateway to the main oil ports in Libya.

Earlier, the spokesman for the Libyan National Army, Major General Ahmed al-Mismari, confirmed that the coming hours will witness a major battle in the vicinity of Sirte and al-Jufra.
