The Address | Benghazi – Libya
BENGHAZI – A military aircraft of the United States Armed Forces (USAF) departed from Ramstein airbase in Germany and headed for Libya on Monday evening, Itamilradar reports.
Itamilradar, a website specializes in monitoring aircraft movements over Italy and the Mediterranean, said the aircraft, a Boeing C-17A (07-7183) left the German airbase at 20:30 CEST.
“The aircraft follow one of usual routes used for flight to Libya and the signal was lost (ADS-B transponder switched off?) south of Malta when the aircraft was flying eastbound,” the website said.
The signal was lost at 23:00 CEST and was again received at 03:50 CEST south of Sardinia when the aircraft was returning to Germany, said Itamilradar.
The aircraft landed in Ramstein around 05:50 CEST.
“We don’t have the full track but we can suppose that the aircraft landed somewhere in eastern Libya (Benghazi?),” Itamilradar concluded.
