TRIPOLI – Interior Minister of the Tripoli-based Government of National Accord (GNA), Fathi Bashagha, emphasized the continuation of corruption in Libya and its direct impact on the Libyan citizen, claiming the start of the prosecution of those involved.

Bashagha said in a tweet: “The corruption has spread everywhere and has become clear, and we see it every day, through services and rights that no longer reach the citizen.”

He claimed that his Ministry, in cooperation with the Office of the Attorney General and regulatory institutions, will proceed to prosecute those involved in corruption, noting the involvement of senior officials in this, saying: “We will start with senior officials who took advantage of their positions for their narrow interests.”
