The Libyan Address Journal

Al-Somoud Brigade, which is allied with the forces of the National Accord Government, announced that their goal of fighting alongside the GNA Forces in Tripoli is “for the sake of applying Sharia law in Libya and ending any western laws that oppose Islam in the country.”

In an interview with the Italian Nova Agency, Ahmed bin Omran, field commander in al-Somoud Brigade, led by the US and UN-sanctioned militant Salah Badi, said that the situation in Tripoli and western Libya has now changed, confirming that their forces, in alliance with other Islamist armed groups, have strongly returned to the scene and have taken control of vital sites and will not abandon or give up their gains “or betray the sacrifices of the martyrs.”
