Turkish Defense Minister meets GNA’s Interior Minister in Ankara

Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar met on Friday in Ankara, Libyan Government of National Accord Interior Minister Fathi Bashagha, and both exchanged views on the latest developments in Libya, Turkish Ministry of Defense said.

This comes after Akar announced that Turkey’s moves in Libya are based on international laws, stressing, during his response to a question about his country’s establishment of military and naval bases in Libya, that the Turkish armed forces are supervising the rehabilitation of the Libyan forces in the training centers they have established, calling not to exaggerate the matter.

The head of the GNA’ Presidential Council chairman Fayez Al-Sarraj announced his intention to conduct an urgent ministerial reshuffle, especially with regard to the service ministries, in light of protests against his government, reiterating his call for general elections next March.
