AFRICOM commander discusses ways to enhance cooperation with Kais Saied

The Commander of the US Military Command in Africa AFRICOM, General Stephen Townsend, discussed with the Tunisian President, Kais Saied, ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in the field of combating terrorism.

The meeting between Saied and Townsend, which took place on Wednesday at the Carthage Palace, dealt with “ways to enhance bilateral cooperation between Tunisia and the US in various fields, including combating terrorism,” according to a statement by the Tunisian presidency, which pointed out that the meeting included the Tunisian Defense Minister, Ibrahim Al-Bartaji.

Commenting on the meeting, General Townsend said that it was “a good meeting in which we discussed ways to support the partnership between our two countries.”
