LNA says it supports people’s right for peaceful demonstrations

The Address | Benghazi – Libya

BENGHAZI – The Libyan National Army (LNA), led by Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, has voiced its support for peaceful protests in Benghazi.

In a statement on Sunday, LNA’s spokesman, Major General Ahmed Al-Mesmari, said the army backs the protesters demands for political reconciliation and better living conditions.

LNA vouched to protect the protesters and called on them to demonstrate in large squires on daytime so that police would secure the protests.

The army also called on protesters not to damage public and private property and to be cautious of any “infiltrators” trying to sabotage the protests and turned it violent.
