BENGHAZI – The spokesman for the Libyan National Army (LNA), Major General Ahmed Al-Mesmari, said that the battle in Libya began to shift from the ground to the negotiation table.

In media remarks on Monday, Al-Mesmari reiterated LNA’s commitment to a ceasefire in accordance with the Cairo initiative.

“The Libyan army always seeks peace and security to achieve the dream of the Libyans in a country free of terrorism,” he said.

Al-Mesmari added that Turkey “continues to transfer mercenaries to Libya” and is “trying to strengthen its presence by controlling more ports and airports”, indicating that “the mercenaries who are transferred to Libya are dangerous and trained elements.”
