The Address | Benghazi – Libya
ALGIERS – The Algerian President, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, said on Sunday that his country was aware of the desire of the Head of the Tripoli-based Government of National Accord (GNA), Fayez Al-Sarraj, to resign.
Tebboune added, during his meeting with representatives of some Algerian media, that “Algeria is working to end the state of war in Libya.”
The Algerian president emphasized that “the solution in Libya must be peaceful and political, through elections in which the Libyan people decide what they see fit under the auspices of the United Nations and away from foreign interference.”
He explained, “We were aware of the withdrawal of Al-Sarraj in light of a new international organization, and those who play in secret must appear in public because the Libyan people deserve to live in safety.”
