The Address | Benghazi – Libya

NEW YORK – Russia’s permanent representative to the United Nations, Vasily Nebenzia, announced that some information about “Russian mercenaries” in Libya in the United Nations reports aims to discredit Russia.

In a statement to Sputnik, the representative of Russia confirmed, “There are accusations regarding Russia’s alleged sabotage role in Libya, and we have previously commented on this issue many times.

He added, “We have seen this information and we can say with confidence that it is mostly based on unverified or forged data and aims to discredit Russian policy in the Libyan direction. This is clear.”

He stressed that Russia has information about the presence of Western military and private military companies in Libya, saying: “We have information about the presence of Western military and private military companies in Libya. They participate in reconnaissance operations, supplying and training various Libyan groups with weapons, in addition to guarding facilities belonging to Western countries and companies, and recruiting and sending mercenaries to Libya.
