BENGHAZI – The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance of the Libyan Interim Government revealed consultations between the Tripoli-based Government of National Accord (GNA) and the Libyan Interim Government on the unification of the general budget, explaining that it was the first negotiations of its kind since 2015.
The Undersecretary, Umrajaa Ghaith, said in press statements that this budget, which stems from the oil export resumption agreement, aims to divide the revenues through a unified budget for the various parts of the country.
Ghaith pointed out that all government sectors are preparing a vision regarding their expenditures for the next year, and the final budget figure has not yet been determined.
As for the percentages of revenue distribution, 60% will be given to GNA as a preliminary proposal, and it is subject to discussion with the technical committees so far, according to Ghaith.
