The Investigation Department of the Attorney General’s Office ordered the imprisonment of the Minister of Local Government in the Government of National Accord, Milad Al-Taher, and his deputy minister, on the grounds of plundering public funds estimated at tens of millions of dollars.
According to the information office of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the investigation department was also assigned to imprison the director of Sebha Hospital for signing on receiving medical supplies and equipment for his city while they did not reach the hospital. The head of the Municipal Council, Bani Walid, was also imprisoned against the background of the use of about three million dollars allocated for the displaced in collusion with members of his family.
The “Special Operations Force” militia also stated that it had detained the director of the Libyan Foreign Bank, Mohamed bin Yusef, by what it said “order of the Public Prosecution.”
