The Address | Benghazi – Libya
Following the e-mails of former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, which revealed the Muslim Brotherhood’s plans and showed the extent of its control over the state in Libya, the Spokesman of the Libyan National Army (LNA), Major General Ahmed Al-Mesmari, said that the Muslim Brotherhood and extremist groups are a common enemy for all of Libya’s neighboring countries.
Al-Mesmari added in statements on Al-Arabiya Al-Hadath TV, “Tunisia has the Ennahda group and Ghannouchi and southern Algeria has terrorist groups, so they walk in a field of mines and these groups are not satisfied with removing them from the map of the region, or the results of a peaceful dialogue that leads to a democratic result through the ballot box, or a constitution that represents a charter for Libya, and it has branches in neighboring countries. Therefore, it must be vigilant so that there is no reverse extension from Libya to these countries, as happened in the past.”
Al-Mismari added, “Prior to the political dialogues, LNA General Commander Khalifa Haftar and the Speaker of the Libyan House of Representatives (HoR) Aguila Saleh went to Egypt on July 6 with the hospitality of the Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, and there was an understanding for the Libyan crisis, and its solutions were translated in the Cairo initiative.
The Spokesperson confirmed that LNA Commander is interested in any political dialogue, as well as supporting any dialogue that ends the crisis.
Al-Mesmari added that the neighboring countries must be convinced that the battle is one and the goal that the Muslim Brotherhood and extremist groups seek is to control the region, supported by Turkey and Qatar.
