LNA denies ceasefire violation

The Address | Benghazi – Libya

BENGHAAZI – The Libyan National Army (LNA) confirmed on Thursday its commitment to the ceasefire in Sirte, denying that the army fired artillery and missiles.

In a statement, Major General Khaled Al-Mahjoub, an LNA media official, said that such allegations circulated by anti-LNA media, including allegations made by the Defense Ministry of the Tripoli-based Government of National Accord (GNA), are false and invalid.

Al-Mahjoub renewed LNA’s “full commitment to the instructions of its leadership to cease fire in accordance with the Cairo initiative and the outcomes of Berlin [Conference]”, adding that LNA is “a disciplined institution and cannot carry out such violations“.
