The Address | Benghazi – Libya
BENGHAZI – The Afriqiyah Airways airline made on Friday the first flight between Tripoli and Benghazi in over a year.
Flights between the two cities were halted in the aftermath of the 2019–20 Western Libya campaign.
A plane of Afriqiyah Airways took off from Tripoli’s Mitiga Airport and arrived Friday afternoon in Benghazi’s Benina International Airport, where it was greeted with water salute.
Commenting on the flight, the Presidential Council’s Deputy Chairman Ahmed Maiteeq said that he hopesthat “these flights will be the beginning of the end of the suffering of Libyans in the east, west and south, not in transportation alone, but in all the difficulties they face.”
