LIBYA – The European Union has placed 16 persons under a travel ban, in addition to 20 persons and 19 entities under asset freeze for threatening peace, stability or security of Libya, according to EU Delegation to Libya.

EU has also transposed all relevant UN Security Council resolutions, including listings, resulting in travel ban to 28 persons and asset freeze to 23, said EU Ambassador and Head of Delegation to Libya, Jose Sabadell.

“EU stands ready to use its sanctions regime in support of a political process as well as deterring past and present acts that threaten peace, stability or security of Libya, or obstruct its peaceful political transition,” Sabadell tweeted on Saturday.
