Ambassador Norland in Moscow for talks on Libya

The Address | Benghazi – Libya

MOSCOW – The United States’ ambassador to Libya, Richard Norland, held discussions in Moscow with his Russian counterparts on the crisis in Libya.

“Today, I’m in Moscow for discussions with Russian counterparts on ways we can support Libyan-led, UN-facilitated resolution of the conflict in Libya,” the American diplomat tweeted on Monday.

This comes as the delegations of the Libyan Joint Military Committee (5 + 5) and the UN Acting Envoy, Stephanie Williams, began military talks on Monday that will last for three consecutive days.

The meeting discussed the implementation mechanisms of the permanent ceasefire agreement, as well as the mechanisms for monitoring and verifying the ceasefire, which were agreed upon at the Geneva meeting on 23 October.
