JMC concludes first meeting in Sirte

SIRTE – Members of the 5+5 Joint Military Committee representing the Libyan National Army (LNA) and the Tripoli-based Government of National Accord (GNA), have concluded their first meeting in Sirte on Tuesday.

The UN-sponsored talks are scheduled to last until Friday, November 13, and are focusing on the implementation of a ceasefire deal signed in Geneva on October 23.

The 5 + 5 Joint Military Committee is a military committee proposed by the UN, which includes 5 members appointed each by LNA and GNA. The committee is part of  the military track of the UN’s peace process in Libya.
